Skin Cancers

The most common of human cancers is skin cancer. With over a million new cases each year it is estimated by health care professionals that almost half of all Americans 65 or over will develop a skin cancer at least once during their lifetime.

Changes in skin appearance that includes skin color, a new growth, or a sore that won’t heal are the most common warning signs of skin cancer.

Excessive sunlight exposure is the main cause of skin cancer.

Other items to avoid include sunlamps, tanning booths, and X-rays.

All these items generate UV rays which can damage the skin and cause malignant cell mutations.

Skin cancer is a general term. There are actually three different conditions that include basal cells carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.

Basal Cells Carcinoma:

Basal cells carcinoma is also called basal cell carcinoma epithelioma. Along with squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma is one of the most common forms of skin cancer.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma:

The first stage of squamous cell carcinoma is called actinic keratosis. Squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma are often referred to as non-melanoma cancers.

Melanoma:

Melanoma is typically thought of as the most serious form of skin cancer. This type of cancer metastasizes or spreads quickly throughout the body and can be fatal.

Natural Remedies for Skin Cancers:

It's possible some skin cancers can be avoided if preventative measures are taken. If you are a person at risk and can't help but be in the sun, cover up. Use SPF sunscreen 30 or higher, wear a hat and appropriate clothing. Regularly have screenings.

Some foods and supplements might protect against skin cancer such as broccoli, carrots, cabbage, fish, flaxseed, citrus fruits, folic acid, vitamins A, C, E, and zinc.

Phytochemical:

Eggplant extract contains solasodine glycoside, or BEC5. This substance has been found to bond to a surface cancer cell receptor. Once the cell digests the eggplant extract it causes the cell to rupture. This destroys the cancer cell and the body absorbs what is left.

BEC5 has been used as an effective skin cancer treatment for non-melanoma skin cancers, preventing surgery. For decades Australians have used this substance to treat their skin cancers.

Red Clover Extract:

Red clover extract is used to prevent the formation of new blood vessels that will feed the growing tumor. Recommended dosage is 500 milligrams taken four times a day.

Cat's Claw Extract:

Cat's claw extract is a supplement that will strengthen your immune system and that also may offer anticancer properties. Recommended dosage is 1,000 milligrams taken three times a day. It is important that you do not take Cat’s claw if you are pregnant or nursing, if you are an organ transplant recipient, or if you take blood thinners.

Milk Thistle Extract:
