The warm olive oil can be massaged into the skin at the site of the pain and if used on a regular basis, it may even help prevent flare ups in the future.
Calcium, Zinc, and Vitamin C Supplements
Many believe that a vitamin deficiency is to blame for the onset of arthritis. Therefore, increasing intake of calcium, Vitamin C, D, E, K and zinc is believed to provide great relief and acts as a natural home remedy for arthritis.
Supplementing may be helpful if you are deficient. Check with your doctor to see if a supplement regimen is right for you.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar contains many vitamins and antioxidant properties and is known for it’s anti-inflammatory and health benefits. ACV shows up as a natural healer for many conditions.
As with the olive oil, use this topically to massage into the site of the inflammation and pain. If you notice any irritation, try mixing it will olive oil then massaging into the skin.
If mixed and there is still irritation, discontinue use.

If you are overweight this can contribute to increased arthritis pain. Weight loss can be very effective when managing the pain.
Exercise and Activities
Exercise and other activities can help improve and strengthen your muscles, decrease stiffness and pain. As you should not overdo the activities you do check with your doctor or see a therapist that can help with an exercise program that is right for you.
