Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that is characterized by facial redness amongst other things.
No one knows why it appears, but there are many theories as to its origins. It is thought to be 3 times more common in women than in men, and mainly affects those of Caucasian descent.
Rosacea can be triggered by many variables, so it is important to remember that finding a natural cure or home remedy may take a trial-and-error process to find the one that suits you best.
Creams can be prescribed by a doctor, but many find these expensive and ineffective and choose to opt for natural cures instead.
What Causes Rosacea:
In addition to gender and ethnicity, other factors that cause Rosacea are:
- Sun exposure

- Hot weather
- Wind
- Alcohol consumption

- Food intolerances
Symptoms of Rosacea:
The common symptoms of Rosacea are:
- Redness on the face
- Small bumps on the skin may be apparent
- Acne may accompany the redness
- Burning sensation
- Red eyes
- Sometimes a red bulbous nose can occur
Natural Cures for Rosacea:
Many people have used these home remedies with great success, but remember that rosacea affects every individual differently so you may need to try a few to get results.
Green Tea:
Steep one teabag of green tea in boiled water for 15 minutes.
Squeeze out the excess water from the teabag and let the liquid cool.
When it is at room temperature, splash it onto a freshly cleaned face and pat dry.
Do this every day to heal rosacea.
Aloe Vera Gel:
Investing in an aloe vera plant will provide you with many natural cures for common ailments.
Aloe vera gel taken from the leaves of a plant and applied to skin affected by rosacea will cool it and take away the redness.
Licorice Root Extract:
Licorice root has an active ingredient that diminishes the appearance of rosacea.
This home remedy can be used to create a mask that will instantly soothe red, itchy skin:
- Mix 1 tsp of licorice root powder with ½ cup of aloe vera gel.
- Apply it to the face and leave it on for 15 minutes.
- Wash it off with lukewarm water and pat dry.
- This can be used as little or often as you need it.
Avoid Sugar:
Many rosacea sufferers notice a dramatic improvement in their skin’s condition when they cut sugar from their diet.
It may be hard at first, but the benefits of having clear skin are well worth it.
