Scars
A natural part of the healing process after an injury, scar formation is the body’s way of knitting skin back together.
Various factors influence how your skin scars. Of course, the depth and size of the wound or incision, and the location of the injury are going to impact the scar's characteristics, but age, heredity, even gender or ethnicity, will all affect how your skin reacts.
Home Remedies for Scars:
Vitamin E:
Ask your pharmacist for the most potent vitamin E caplets available. It does not matter what brand you buy. Vitamin E oil (in bottles) is now being produced in some areas, just make sure that the oil is as potent as the most potent chaplet formulas. This remedy works for new (red or purple) or old (white) stretch marks and scars.
Aloe:
Aloe, from the plant, or purchased in a tube, and Vitamin E gel chaplets, mixed together and apply to area that is scared or might end up scaring. Significant results have occurred in both old scars and new injuries that could scar.
Tea Tree Oil:
Tea tree oil is excellent for blemishes. Hold a used tea bag onto the scarred area several times a day. Tea (especially green tea) has antioxidants that help the skin heal.
Calendula:
Calendula, also known as Marigold, as an extract or brewed like tea and applied to the skin helps prevent scars.
Potato Juice:
Potato juice (rub a slice onto the skin and rinse off after 15 minutes) helps heal red marks and scars from acne.
Lavender Oil:
Lavender essential oil helps scars fade. Just a drop or two on a cotton ball, dabbed on the scar helps both old and new scars.
Honey:
Pure honey is one of the best remedies for scars. Rub it on the scar many times every day, and you will see remarkable results.
Emu Oil:
Transdermis Scar Therapy, derived from emu oil, consists primarily of essential fatty acids. A superior processing technology refines the oil, allowing maximum penetration into the skin, and enhancing the effects of the product. There are no chemical additives or unnecessary ingredients, only organic vitamin E is used as a preservative.
